E-Readers Borrower’s Agreement

Our e-reader program is an opportunity to borrow an e-reader and experience what it is like to read on the device.  Please feel free to ask questions and enjoy!

I agree:

  • I will not tamper with the e-reader, accessories, and the digital books, or attempt to load digital books, or attach any equipment not designed for use with the e-reader.
  • That the purpose of the e-reader is to read the pre-loaded books provided by the library, and I will not attempt to browse the internet.
  • I will return the e-reader to a library staff member (the librarian will verify that the e-reader is in operating condition and all accessories are returned).
  • To accept full financial liability for the e-reader and accessories, while in my possession and pay full repair and/or replacement costs should the device or any accessories be lost, stolen, not returned or damaged in any way (e.g. water, extreme temperature, or excessive smoke)
  • To pay any overdue fees of $1.00 per day, if I fail to return the device when it is due.
  • To pay a fine of $20.00 for using the book drop instead of returning the device to a librarian.
  • That the Stowe Free Library may use any appropriate means to collect the amount owed for fees, damage, loss or theft.
  • To comply with these rules and guidelines, and if I fail to comply, my privilege of borrowing an e-reader will be revoked.

I have read and received a copy of the e-reader lending policy and my signature indicates my agreement with these documents.
