We are working with a recent computer upgrade with our library system. There are always glitches. You may see fines on your account. Be assured that we will wipe out any fines on your account up until January 3rd. The only fines we will be charging will be on DVDs and they start with DVDs checked out on January 3rd. If your DVD is due on January 10th and you bring it back late, you will be charged a $1.00 a day overdue charge.

Call us if you find your renewals are delayed or other issues come up with your account. We upgraded our library software on Monday, Nov. 21 and you may have lost personal book lists and other features. We have gained other features and gizmos but we can all be inconvenienced with these technology upgrades. Thank you for your patience and your persistence.

Internet services were temporarily down today (Thursday) but have been restored.

The month of March brings conflicting images. The negative: the lion, madness, the Ides, and what seems like endless winter (great for some, but not another below zero, gray-white day for others). The positive side of March often gets short shrift. Yet, today, I am thinking about yesterday, the first Tuesday of March, Town Meeting Day, which stands for community and democracy at its finest. Mid-March this year brings Daylight Saving Time. Even before the clocks are "sprung" forward, I feel a spike of good feelings as I note the sun rising earlier and setting later every single day.
