Book Recommendations from PLA
It's been an exciting few days out here in Portland for the PLA (Public Library Association) conference. I was able to meet two women whose book recommendations I really love: Nancy Pearl, the famous librarian-with-an-action-figure from Seattle, and Nora Rawlinson from EarlyWord.
I was able to attend Nancy Pearl's "Book Buzz" program yesterday, where she invited the library liasions from four publishers to talk about their favorite items for Summer and Fall 2010. Take a look at the Library Journal article about the program and make notes of the titles you might like -- I plan to put many of them on order (so you can put them on hold) as soon as I get home!
