"Bats, Biodiesel, and the Barnyard" -- a new program series
Our new series with the Stowe Land Trust and the Vermont Ski Museum, "Bats, Biodiesel, and the Barnyard" may seem like a strange mix, but it is a great way for our three organizations to work together!
The series begins tomorrow, Wednesday, 9/9, with a program on bats for children 6 and up with the Lamoille County Nature Center. Our LCNC programs are well-loved; we encourage you to sign your child up for the programs, which happen on the first Wednesday of each month. Please send your child with a snack for the program.
The next night, on Thursday, 9/10 at 7pm at the Ski Museum, Rose Paul, Director of Science and Stewardship with the Vermont chapter of The Nature Conservancy will discuss bats for adults, including information on the white-nose syndrome affecting bats in Vermont and a photographic tour of the three bat caves The Nature Conservancy owns.
The next program in the series will be on Thursday, 9/24 at 7pm at the Ski Museum, focusing on Green Initiatives by Vermont Ski Areas. Representatives from Okemo, Stratton, Sugarbush, and Stowe will be on hand. Skiers, this is sure to be an interesting program for you to attend!
Our final program in the series is on Wednesday, September 30 at 3pm, when we welcome Geiger and the 4H to discuss wool and sheep -- complete with a sheep on the Library Lawn! This program is for children ages 6 and up, and, again, we ask that you please send a snack with your child.
