Rather than reinventing the wheel on book recommendations for children and teens this summer, the Stowe Free Library Children's Librarian recommends the following website:

 This website provides a list of the top ten summer reading lists for kids and teens. Included are the ALA (American Library Association) Notable Books of 2009, the National Endowment for the Humanities recommended reading list, the Horn Book Magazine list, as well as the Houston Independent School Library Network list, the Dana School recommended reading list and more. Each list includes annotations about each book and the recommended reading level for each book. Books for the earliest reader up through the teenage are included.

The Stowe Free Library strives to purchase as many of the top reviewed and recommended childrens and young adult/teen books as our budget will allow.
