Summer Reading Programs for Kids & Teens
Stowe Free Library Kids Summer Reading Programs and Events
All children and young adults are invited to join a “Be Creative” or “Express Yourself @your library” summer reading program. Sponsored by the Vermont Department of Libraries, these programs encourage reading over the summer in a noncompetitive format. For children not yet reading on their own, there is a Read-to-Me program with stickers; school-age kids can record what they read in a reading log; young adults can use a log or can join our online reading program. Earn a tshirt, an ice cream cone, a book, or lots of other fun prizes for reading! Registration for these reading programs will begin on June 1st.
There are lots of fun events for kids of all ages going on at the library this summer as well. Please stop by to pick up a schedule or print one off this website (schedule to follow). Starting with a kick-off event on June 23 at 6pm with storyteller Tom Stamp and musician Rik Palieri, followed by Storytimes, a Magic Show, a Teddy Bear Sleepover, Teen Movie Nights, a Manga Drawing Class, and much much more, you won’t want to miss out on all the fun at the Stowe Free Library.
