Eating Local and the Stowe Culinary Classic
We hope everyone is getting ready for the 2008 Stowe Culinary Classic, which begins on June 14th up at the Stowe Mountain Resort with the 2nd Annual Bounty Festival.
The Culinary Classic's focus on eating locally fits in perfectly with the Library's own year-long series on Eating Local, in partnership with area farmers and the Lamoille County Natural Resources Conservation District. We will have three events as part of the Culinary Classic:
Saturday, June 14 at 11am and 1pm: Story Time with Sally Dain of the Tiny Acorn. Join Sally for stories and a craft that focus on fresh food and eating local. These story times will be up at the Bounty Festival at the Stowe Mountain Resort.
Monday, June 16 at 7pm. Chocolate tasting with Lake Champlain Chocolates. Sample four chocolates from around the world.
Tuesday, June 17 at 7pm. Marialisa Calta and Barbarians at the Plate. Come for a special Face-to-Face: Meet the Author with Marialisa Calta, author of Barbarians at the Plate, which discusses eating well as a family.
Don't forget about the Salvation Farms program on Thursday of that week here at the Library, at 6pm and about National Pollinator Week the following week, when we welcome Ross Conrad on June 24th at 6pm and Carrie Riker with a program for kids on June 25 at 2pm.
