Stowe Free Library

On Wednesday, June 15, 2011, the Trustees of the Stowe Free Library hosted the annual Volunteer reception to show appreciation to the many volunteers who help make the library as wonderful a place as it is. The reception was held at the Stowe Inn on their lovely outdoor porch. All gathered to socialize, nibble on bountiful snacks, and revel in the good weather for a change. The library is very fortunate to have 2 wonderful groups of volunteers - the desk volunteers who help out our staff checking your books in and out and keeping the shelves in order, and the volunteer board of the Friends of SFL who serve as fundraisers, managing the ever popular Book Sale and Plant Sale, and also sponsor many of the popular programs provided by the library.
In addition to thanking the volunteers, trustee board chair David Bryan recognized recently "retired" trustee Dick Johannesen who left the board after 15 years due to new term limits. Johannesen will stay on as volunteer board treasurer. In addition to Bryan, other trustees hosting the event were Charlie Lusk, Phyllis Thibault, Stefi Clymer, Jo Sabel Courtney, Frits Momsen, and Amanda Kuhnert.
